University City Man Stabbed, Beat Girlfriend, Police Say

A University City man is charged with stabbing and beating his girlfriend Thursday.

Timothy Paul Thomas, 33, of the 6500 block of Corbitt Avenue in U City, was charged Friday with first-degree domestic assault and armed criminal action.

University City Police said Thomas beat and stabbed his girlfriend at their home Thursday, causing serious injuries. According to a court document, Thomas is schizophrenic and had not been taking his medication.

Thomas is being held in St. Louis County Justice Center. Bail was set at $100,000.
