U City Woman Left Drugs, Syringes Within Reach of 5-Year-Old, Police Say

The woman was charged with endangering a child's welfare.

A University City woman faces criminal charges for leaving drugs and syringes within reach of her 5-year-old child.

Cynthia Clements, 29, of the 800 block of Lepere in University City, was charged Sept. 18 with second-degree endangering a child’s welfare, a class A misdemeanor.

University City Police said in a statement that Clements and her boyfriend on April 26 “ingested controlled substances to the point of unconsciousness. She left syringes and prescription drugs within easy access of her 5-year-old.”
