U City Police Blotter: Copper Pipe, Car Thefts

University City Police incidents from the week of Dec. 17-23.

The department arrested 48 adults and three juveniles. There was one charge of stealing, four burglaries and two motor vehicle thefts.

The reporting party stated person(s) unknown forced entry into a vacant property and stole copper piping*

Suspect arrested while attempting similar offense on Chamberlain.

6719 Plymouth Ave. Dec. 17-19

Officers found a broken basement window and observed copper piping had been removed from the basement of the vacant property.*

6721 Plymouth Ave. Dec. 19

Officers observed an open door. Vacant residence was unlocked, with no forced entry. Copper stolen from basement.*

1078 Pennslyvania Ave. Dec. 19-20

The reporting party stated person(s) unknown stole a red 1990 Buick LeSabre, bearing MSL FG9- J4L.

7188 Kingsbury Ave. Dec. 18-19

The reporting party stated person(s) unknown stole her vehicle, a 2005 Mercedes E230, sometime overnight.

Vehicle was later recovered by St. Louis City on Dec. 21.

7547 Olive Blvd. Nov. 30-Dec. 22

The reporting party stated person(s) unknown had unlawfully entered a vacant property and stole copper piping.*

7701 Olive Blvd. Dec. 20

An elderly lady's coin purse was taken from her hands on the parking lot by an unknown male subject, who also had been shopping at the same Aldi store.
