U City Police Blotter: Break-In at COCA

Each week, features a look at reports from the University City Police Department. Here is a look at the blotter from the week of May 13-19, 2013. 

The department arrested 53 adults and three juveniles. There was one report of arson, one robbery and five burglaries.

Monday, May 13 

  • The reporting party stated person(s) unknown lit a piece of paper and discarded it in the second floor boys’ restroom in a building in the 6700 block of Delmar Blvd. The reporting party smelled smoke and extinguished the fire; there were no visible flames or damage done to the restroom or trash bin. 

Thursday, May 16

  • A gas station clerk stated that two males robbed the station in the 7400 block of Olive at gunpoint. She stated that the suspects took money from the cash register and items from a customer before fleeing. 
Friday, May 17

  • The reporting party stated person(s) unknown entered the unlocked building in the 6600 block of Delmar Blvd. and stole three coils of heavy-duty electrical wire from the construction site while the crew was on lunch break.  
Saturday, May 18

  • Officers responded to an alarm sounding at COCA, where the entry door was found to be unlocked. Surveillance video revealed two juveniles walking throughout the building and rifling through drawers. The suspects exited through the dock entry door prior to Officers' arrival. Possible suspects have developed.
  • The reporting party stated person(s) unknown unlawfully entered her residence in the 8000 block of Teasdale Ave. through an open back door and stole several pieces of jewelry. 
Sunday, May 19

  • The reporting party stated person(s) unknown forced the apartment door open in the 7300 block of Tulane. The victims stated that no items appeared to be missing.
