U City Man Shot Victim at Heman Park, Police Say

A University City man shot another man in the leg May 24 at Heman Park, 1010 Midland Boulevard.
University City Police said Cornell Williams,18, shot at the man three times, hitting him once in the leg, breaking his femur bone. Police said the victim and a witness identified Williams as the shooter.
Williams was charged in St. Louis County Circuit Court Wednesday with first-degree assault and armed criminal action.
He is being held in the St. Louis County Justice Center. Bail was set at $100,000.
