Brothers Arrested in Connection with Destinee Clemons' Murder

University City Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the drive-by shooting of the 17-year-old.

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the June drive-by killing of Destinee Clemons, who was shot while sitting on the front porch of her Plymouth Avenue home.

announced Monday that two suspects have been arrested and charged with second-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.

  • Jeremy Bowers, 20, of the 7000 block of Melrose
  • Jared Bowers, 19, of the 7000 block of Melrose. 

Bond has been set at $1 million each. 

The suspects are charged with killing Clemons and injuring Jerry′Ka McCauley, her 23-year-old sister, on June 22. McCauley was struck in the arm and her wound was not serious.

In the days following the shooting, police confirmed that a  in the early morning hours of June 22 was the vehicle used in the commission of the homicide. No arrests have yet been made in the case.
