Police: Three Acted Together in Heman Park Shooting

Witnesses identified men and the van as being involved in Friday's crime at the park.

More details were released on the as charges were filed against three men.

Each of the three men were charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. The suspects are:

  • Steven W. Brown, 25, of the 12000 block of Rosado in Spanish Lake;
  • Ricky D. Dixon, Jr., 30, of the 2200 block of Sims in Overland;
  • Lemuel D. Reed, 40, of the 3900 block of Shaw Boulevard in St. Louis.

said in a report the three men, acting together, shot at the victim near the basketball courts in Friday. Several witnesses described a van as being involved in the shooting, police said.

The victim identified two of the men in the van as people who shot at him.

University City Police stopped the van near the scene of the shooting. A handgun and spent shell casing were recovered inside the van.

Bond has been set at $100,000 each, cash only, for Brown, Dixon and Reed.
