Police: Jogger Attacked in Forest Park Tuesday

St. Louis Police were searching for a suspect following the evening attack.

St. Louis Metropolitan Police are searching for suspect after a woman reported being attacked while she jogged in Forest Park near .

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the incident happened about 8:45 p.m. The woman was jogging on the running path in the park that runs along Highway 40 at Tamm Avenue, near the south parking lot of the St. Louis Zoo, the Post reported.

The attacker hit the 27-year-old jogger, and may have struck her with a rock, St. Louis police spokesman David Marzullo told the Post. Her injuries did not appear to be severe.

The victim fought off the attacker, police said. St. Louis Police are classifying the incident as an attempted rape.

Police released a vague description of the attacker, including that he had shoulder-length braids and was wearing a white T-shirt.
