Police Investigating Robbery, Auto Theft in the Loop

A Washington University student reported the crime.

The Washington University Police Department is reporting a robbery and auto theft that occurred late last night in the Delmar Loop.

According to the Washington University Police, the robbery occurred around 12:15 a.m. in the 600 block of Leland (near Leland and Delmar).

Police in University City are investigating a robbery and auto theft that occurred about 12:15am on Thursday. The victim reported that he was approached by two subjects as he exited his car in the 600 block of Leland. The subjects requested assistance in starting a vehicle. One suspect then displayed a handgun and the other displayed a knife. They took the victim’s car keys and then left with his vehicle. The victim was not physically injured.    

The suspects are described as a white male and a black male; both in their late teens or early 20s; of medium build and height; wearing blue jeans and white t-shirts.

KMOV's Maggie Crane is reporting on Twitter that the car involved is a white Toyota Camry, with a Missouri license plate SC3-V5D.
