North County Man Charged With Illegally Carrying Weapon

The man was pulled over Saturday and arrested for driving while revoked and an outstanding warrant, police said.

A North County man was charged with carrying a weapon and driving while revoked after being pulled over Saturday in University City.

David C. President, 20, of the 1100 block of Waldorf Avenue in Bellefontaine Neighbors, was charged Sunday with unlawful use of a weapon and driving with a revoked license.

A University City Police officer said he saw President “involved in suspicious activity in the 6500 block of Bartmer Avenue at 2:15 a.m. Saturday. The officer followed President and pulled him over on Etzel Avenue.

The officer said he found President was driving with a revoked license and had an active warrant for his arrest. At the police station, the officer discovered President had a loaded Smith and Wesson revolver.

President was being held in St. Louis County jail on Wednesday. Bail was set at $15,000.
