Wait, I am confused. Their were excuses made that the recent shootings in the UCity Loop were the product of our "urban youth" not having anything to do and that they needed a community center, more community activities etc. and that these things would curb this particular type of behavior. Weren't these teens playing basketball at our community park? Wonder what types of excuses we can come up with for this? And the leaders of the city are miffed as to why the population of University City is decreasing. Poor school district and people acting like this in a park that is frequented by small children and families. What a shame.

I agree that this a shame, but please don't claim that the University City School District is a poor school district!

Charles F, it seems you're painting with an excessively wide brush here. This was a crime, plain and simple. Crimes happen, sometimes arrests are made, sometimes they're actually solved. To pretend that there will be no youth crime EVER simply because there are a few basketball courts in Heman Park shows a very poor understanding of the whole situation. Or you are purposely being disingenuous.
