Man Robbed Women of iPhones at MetroLink Station, Police Say

University City Police said officers used GPS device on phones to track down Deandre Washington and recover the phones.

A man robbed two women, taking their Apple iPhones at gunpoint at the MetroLink station on Forest Park Parkway Monday, police said.

University City Police said officers used the GPS tracking device on the phone to track the suspect and recover the phones.

Deandre Washington, 21, of the 4400 block of Red Bud in the city of St. Louis, was charged Tuesday with two counts of first-degree robbery.

Police said one of the victims identified Washington, who admitted to the robbery and other crimes.

Washington is being held in the St. Louis County Justice Center. Bail was set at $50,000.
