Man Robbed Man, Stole Car in Parking Lot on the Loop, Police Say

One man put a knife to the victim's neck while another pulled out a gun during the Oct. 25 robbery, according to University City Police.

A man was charged for robbing a man and stealing his car just after midnight Oct. 25 at 605 Leland Avenue. The area is a parking lot behind a restaurant on the Loop on the 6600 block of Delmar Blvd.

Timothy L. Valley, 19, was charged Dec. 7 with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action.

University City Police said Valley and another man stole a man’s cell phone and his 1996 Toyota Camry.

The other man approached the victime in the parking lot and asked if he could borrow some jumper cables, police said When the man told him he had no jumper cables, Valley asked to borrow his cell phone.

As the man complied, Valley came up behind him and put a knife to the back of his neck. The other man pulled out a handgun and demanded the man’s keys, police said.

Valley and the other man took the keys and drove off in the Camry. University City Police arrested Valley and the victim identified him as one of the robbers.
