Man Charged with Threatening to Kill Witness in U City

Police said the man participated in a robbery, the next day he approached the victim and said he was going to die for getting his friends locked up.

A man who threatened a crime witness with a gun in University City last year was charged Tuesday in St. Louis County Circuit.

Jerry Hudson-Keys, 26, of the is charged with first-degree robbery, armed criminal action and tampering with a witness.

said Hudson-Keys had participated in an armed robbery July 12, 2011. Police arrested two men in connection with the robbery, Carlos Suber and Anthony Washington Jr. of Florissant.

The next day, Hudson-Keys approached the robbery victim in University City. Hudson-Keys was carrying a .40 cal handgun and loaded a round into the chamber, according to a police report.

University City Police said he told the victim he “had gotten Washington and Suber locked up and now he was going to die.”

The victim ran into a building and hid. A witness told police he saw Hudson-Keys take the victim’s keys out of his car and leave.

Suber and Washington both pleaded guilty in March to third-degree assault. Suber was sentenced to six months in prison and Washington’s sentence was suspended. He was given two years probation.
