Man Charged After Using Stolen Credit Cards for Metrolink

University Police said the man also stole an iPhone and GPS unit.

said a St. Louis man was caught after he used a stolen credit card to buy Metrolink passes.

Benjamin Thompson, 30, of the 1000 block of Hamilton Avenue in St. Louis, was charged Thursday with stealing credit cards and fraudulent use of a credit device.

In court documents, University City Police said Thompson stole two credit cards, an Apple iPhone and a Garmin GPS unit from a car in the 7000 block of Etzel Avenue at about 8:35 a.m. June 13.

Police said he used the credit cards multiple times, including buying an annual and single-day Metrolink passes at 6402 Plymouth Avenue and 7000 St. Charles Rock Road.

Bond was set at $20,000.
