KSDK: U City Security Guard Shoots Self

The guard was removing his gun from the holster when it fired.

A security guard from University City shot himself as he removed his gun from its holster Tuesday morning, KSDK is reporting.

According to the report, University City Police officers responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Watts around 8:25 a.m. Tuesday.

KSDK reports the victim was a security officer who was removing his weapon from the holster when it discharged.

The unidentified victim was struck by the bullet, but did not suffer any serious or life threatening injuries, according to the report.
