Fire damaged the House of India in University City early Friday morning. The owners rushed to the scene to see the damage first-hand.
Fox 2 reports the fire started around 12:15 a.m. at the restaurant at Delmar Blvd. and Berick Drive.
The University City fire department got a call that smoke was coming from the roof. Crews found the fire in the kitchen. They were able to keep the fire to the kitchen and put it out in less than 45 minutes.
The restaurant has been open for more than 20 years.
The door is now boarded and the building has been condemned, Fox 2 reports.
There were no injuries.
