Fire at Loop Clothing Store Shuts Down Delmar

A fire broke out at a store in the Delmar Loop area around 3:15pm Wednesday.

Witnesses report seeing smoke pouring out of the front door of Timeless Authentic Garments, located at 6314 Delmar. The shop is described as a used, vintage, consignment store. The store is located between Chipotle and Noodles and Company.

Employees at Noodles and Company rushed to help with buckets of water, but say the smoke was too thick to get inside the store.

University City Fire Chief Don Miner says it appears to be an electrical fire that started in a rear room in the store. He says the business sustained heavy smoke damage. He says there were no injuries.

Chief Miner says neighboring businesses, Chipotle and Noodles and Company sustained moderate smoke damage.

A woman identified to University City Patch as the owner of the store had no comment. She had black soot on her hands and face.
