Documents ID Gunman in Drive-By Shooting of Destinee Clemons

Two brothers were charged Saturday with murder in the fatal shooting.

Court documents identify the shooter in the June 22 drive-by killing of Destinee Clemons.

Witnesses told police that Jeremy Bowers, 20, was driving the red Toyota Corolla June 22 and slowed down as he approached the home in the 6500 block of Plymouth Drive in U City, according to a probable cause statement by .

Police said that Bowers’ brother, Jared Bowers, 19, then fired several shots into a crowd gathered on the home’s front porch, killing Clemons, 17, and injuring her sister, Jerry′Ka McCauley, 23.

McCauley was struck in the arm but her wound was not serious. Police said one other person was shot but also survived.

Both brothers have been charged with second-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action and firing a weapon from a vehicle.

Police said that witnesses identified the Bowers brothers.

Both are being held in St. Louis County Justice Services facility in lieu of $1 million bonds.
