A jury has found Todd Shepard guilty of murder.

A jury found Todd Shepard guilty of first degree murder Thursday in the 2008 shooting death of Sgt. Michael King of the University City Police Department.

King's widow, Susan, and his brother, Doug, gave tearful impact statements. Childhood photos of King at the beach and with his brothers were shown to jurors as were pictures of him at his wedding, with his nieces and nephews and with his favorite hunting dog. Several jurors cried during their statements.

Shepard's younger brother, Thomas, a niece and Shepard's childhood friend spoke out in support of Shepard.
