Neighbors Credit Union Raises Over $1,100 for ALS Association

St. Louis, MO – At Neighbors, we have a strong desire to do what’s right for our members and for our employees. Throughout the year, Neighbors donates to many charities and organizations.  Helping our local children’s hospitals and donating to Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) is just one of the few in which we donate to every month.  Generally, we focus on our members, the community and our charities, but this month we’ve shifted our focus on one of our own employees and came together as a team to raise a compassionate donation and awareness this month.

Larry Henges worked as a Commercial Business Development officer at Neighbors Credit Union. Just recently, Larry was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease.

On January 24, 2014, Neighbors held a special dress down day in honor of Larry in which each employee wore an ALS ribbon for a donation of at least $5.   The credit union matched the funds raised by staff.  They are proud to say that they raised $1,150 for the ALS association on behalf of Larry.

“Larry’s been such a great asset for Neighbors and also, a wonderful friend. Everyone at Neighbors was thrilled to hold a special day just for him. He deserves our support,” said CEO, John Servos.  Larry has retired from Neighbors Credit Union to spend his remaining days traveling, sightseeing and spending quality time with his family.
