Wine Tasting and Gourmet Dinner Party Saturday October 19 Will Help Support Programs and Services
Join the festivities at the Sixth Annual “Guess the Grape” Blind Wine Tasting, Food Pairing & Auction celebrating the inspiring work of St. Louis Society of the Blind & Visually Impaired on Saturday, October 19, 2013.
This unique and fun evening opens with a champagne reception, followed by the “blind” Wine Tasting and Food Pairing. Flights of three different wines will be tasted in a blind format with guests not knowing what the wines are until after each flight. Each flight is specially paired with a chef’s selection. Certified Sommelier, Mike Ward of Major Brands Inc., and Certified Specialist of Wine Dave Birkenmeyer of Schnucks will lead guests through the tasting to educate and help guests determine which wines they enjoy most.
Guests are encouraged to actively participate in choosing both which wine is being tasted and which one they prefer.
The popular annual “Guess the Grape” festivities will be at Patty Long’s River Bottom Saloon in St. Louis’ historic Soulard area at 112 Sidney St. St Louis, MO 63104.
Sheila Sweeney, Event Chair, says, “This exceptional evening of great wines, a gourmet meal, luscious desserts, and an exciting auction will celebrate the extraordinary work of the Society of the Blind & Visually Impaired, which is now well into its second century of providing meaningful services in our community.
