Returning to the Source of My Meditation - University City
I'm returning to the source of my first meditation experience - U. City. And wish to share what I've learned since.
Well, I'm hopping on a plane tomorrow from New York to return to St. Louis, where I will stay with my former neighbor in U. City, Delores. Then on Saturday, May 4, I will be part of the "Let's Meditate St. Louis" workshop.
U. City is actually where I had my first real meditation experience - a spontaneous one at that. I was in my teens, walking through Lewis Park near the "Lions", when a lovely day turned extraordinary, because I suddenly felt a very deep sense of inner peace. It lasted a minute or two, and then disappeared. But that minute or two of inner peace started me on a search to find out more about the inner life.
Learning to meditate in a formal sense gives us access to deeper parts of ourselves and beautiful experiences on a more frequent and regular basis than just as occasional (or once in a lifetime) "bolts from the blue". It allows us to delve into more profound aspects of life.

Please join us on Saturday, May 4 from 10 AM - 4 PM at Belas-Artes Art Gallery and Multicultural Center (1854 Russell Blvd, 63104) if you want to learn more about meditation -- whether you are a beginner or are experienced. It's free, and based on the teachings of Sri Chinmoy.
Please feel free to contact me at 347-610-5720 to confirm your attendance or if you have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you.
