My Garbage Bag Dress, Inside Out

You've seen my sailor romper. Now check out my art-to-wear gown made from trash bags!

Check out my second look for theSalvation Army's Garbage Bag Gala

It's inside out, so you can't see the beautiful black and white stripes going up and down the bodice. The original pattern called for boning up the sides (like hard wires to hold the dress up, guys), but these women are tailoring the dress so perfectly that it fits me like a glove.

I can't believe they found bright pink plastic for the skirt! The pink will just barely peek out when the dress is right side up, but I still think it will make quite a statement.

Sue says she's trying to figure out how to get the wrinkles out of the dress. I mean, you can't exactly iron it on high heat! Sue puts all her heavy books on it on her dining room table. Smart!
