Ahoy, Sailor! My Garbage Bag Gala Outfit
Join me at the Garbage Bag Gala August 2 at the Moonrise Hotel.
Want a sneak peek of the all-garbage bag work of art I'll be modeling at the Salvation Army's Garbage Bag Gala on Aug. 2? Well, here ya go!
My designers Sue, Karen and Mickey thought a sailor theme would be cute for my "casual" outfit of the night. (The other outfit is supposed to be "wearable art.") I can't believe the skirt they put together - how do you pleat plastic?! It looks like a cheerleading skirt I might have worn in junior high, only with beautiful brass buttons on the front.
The top...we're working on. So far, it's made me look a little like a marshmallow. But that's why this is so exciting! My wonderful designers are tacking this challenge full on - how to make tough, unstretchable plastic look chic and (dare I say it?) sexy! You'll see the full look on the runway, and I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Oh, and did you see my purse? Karen created it from an old orange juice carton. Brilliant. Karen and the girls are going on a cruise in October, and she wants to make them all matching purses!
