Sharpen Your Knives: Pumpkin Carving This Weekend

The 4th annual great pumpkin carve and glow is this weekend at the Moonrise Hotel.

Nothing says Halloween like carving pumpkins. Roll up your sleeves and spend an afternoon at Moonrise Hotel for the 4th Annual Great Pumpkin Carve & Glow on Saturday, Oct. 27. The free pumpkin carving event runs from 3-6:30 p.m. in the Moonrise Hotel courtyard at 6177 Delmar in The Loop.

Pumpkins, basic carving tools and decorating materials will be provided. Enjoy the fall air while hands-deep in pumpkin, or drop your carved pumpkin off ahead of time at Moonrise Hotel.

The pumpkin carving runs from 3-6 p.m. At 6 p.m., all pumpkins will be displayed for the official lighting and judging. Prizes will be awarded in multiple categories.

Jay Philpott of 106.5 The Arch will emcee the event. The panel of guest judges includes Jeff & Randy Vines from STL-Style, Cindy Jones from City Sprouts and Josh Routh from Circus Kaput

DJ Wood The 12" King will provide entertainment.

Complimentary hot apple cider and caramel apples will be provided, courtesy of Eclipse Restaurant. Schlafly Beer will provide samples for those who fancy an adult beverage. An after-party will follow at the Rooftop Terrace Bar at the Moonrise Hotel.
