The Regional Arts Commission brings the tradition and vibrant culture of Latin American Carnaval
to Saint Louis with its Latinicidad exhibition. Curated by Ciléia Miranda-Yuen, the exhibit showcases artists whose works encapsulate the festival’s spirit with a variety of traditional
masks, dresses, and paintings. Accompanying the exhibition will be our own Carnaval event uniting the community in a celebration of history, art, and custom.
The celebration will begin with the
exhibit’s opening reception on Friday, February 28 from
5:30 - 7:30pm. Following in true tradition, the celebration continues on with a community Carnaval festival on Sunday, March 2.
The exhibit is free
and open to the public. A Gallery Talk will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 5:30 – 7:00 pm. The talk is free and open to the public.
