90's Rockers Sponge LIVE!

Detroit hit-makers Sponge bring their “Rotting Piñata” Rewind Tour to Cicero's, performing their breakthrough CD in its entirety on Saturday January 26.  Advance tickets are $17 ($20 at the door) and available now at ticketfly.com and at the venue. Doors are at 7:30 pm and ages 17 and over are welcome to attend. Local rockers The Difference Engine and Jetliner Gypsies open the show.

Hailing from Detroit, Sponge gained widespread notoriety with their debut album "Rotting Piñata."  Hits like "Plowed" and "Molly (16 Candles)" fueled massive airplay on commercial radio and were in heavy rotation on MTV. ”Rotting Piñata” was the breakthrough album for Sponge –a band that continues to earn acclaim for their no-holds-bar live shows.

Sponge pent much of 2012 bringing their “Rotting Piñata Rewind Tour” to ecstatic fans on both coasts.  “These shows give die hard Sponge fans the chance to hear songs that have not been performed live for almost 20 years!" explains Sponge lead singer Vinnie Dombroski.
