Hailing from Detroit, Sponge gained widespread notoriety with their debut album "Rotting Piñata." Hits like "Plowed" and "Molly (16 Candles)" fueled massive airplay on commercial radio and were in heavy rotation on MTV. ”Rotting Piñata” was the breakthrough album for Sponge –a band that continues to earn acclaim for their no-holds-bar live shows.
Sponge pent much of 2012 bringing their “Rotting Piñata Rewind Tour” to ecstatic fans on both coasts. “These shows give die hard Sponge fans the chance to hear songs that have not been performed live for almost 20 years!" explains Sponge lead singer Vinnie Dombroski.
Of course concert attendees will also be treated to additional Sponge hits from their extensive catalog including the infectious “Wax Ecstatic” and the heartfelt ballad “Have You Seen Mary.”
