University City Library Charging More for Overdue Items
The overdue fine for adult books increased to 20 cents per day.
has increased the fines for overdue books, magazines, audiobooks and CDS.
The new fee increase went into effect on Monday, Jan 1, 2012. The overdue fee for Juvenile items went up 10 cents per day, while the fine for adult books increased to 20 cents per day. Overdue CDs will also cost 20 cents per day.
The library said this is its first fee increase in over 20 years. It added, that the fee increase brings its fines in line with other libraries in the St. Louis area.

Fines for overdue DVDs remain the same at 50 cents per DVD per day.
The new fines apply to items checked out after Monday, Jan 1.
