Traffic Alert: Pres. Obama, Cardinals in Downtown St. Louis

Area drivers should expect possible traffic delays to and from downtown St. Louis Tuesday with the Cardinals playoff game taking place during a campaign visit from President Obama.

If you're driving anywhere near downtown St. Louis Tuesday afternoon expect some traffic delays.

Two big events are happening downtown within an hour of each other. The Cardinals playoff game against the Philadelphia Phillies kicks off at Busch Stadium at 4:00pm. And President Barack Obama is scheduled to attend a fundraiser at the Renaissance Hotel (800 Washington Avenue) from 5:00pm to 8:00p.m.

Because of security concerns, no details are being released concerning the president's exact arrival or departure to and from the event.

KMOV reports several downtown streets will shutdown late Tuesday afternoon, including Washington Avenue from 8th Street to 11th Street starting around 3 p.m., as well as parts of 9th Street, 10th Street and others.

President Obama will fly into Lambert International Airport. No word on his exact motorcade route because of security concerns.
