Traffic Ahead: Avoid the Mardi Gras Minefields

Holidays and planned construction work will slow traffic around the St. Louis area this weekend.

The Mardi Gras Effect

Ramps from northbound I-55 to 3200 Broadway and 7th and Park and the ramp from southbound I-55 to 7th will be closed from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. In addition the ramps from northbound and southbound I-55 to Arsenal will be closed from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the event.

The ramp from eastbound I-70 to Broadway will be closed from 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesday for the Mardi Gras Fat Tuesday parade.

Other Closures

The ramp from eastbound I-64 to 6th Street closed at 9:30 a.m. Friday to continue making bridge repairs. The ramp will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday.

The ramp closure from westbound I-70 to Madison was delayed due to inclement weather.  It will remain closed through Wednesday, February 22.

And be aware of the following on-going closures:

• I-70, St. Louis City, right lane on eastbound I-70 closed from St. Louis Avenue to Broadway until summer 2012.
• I-70, St. Louis City, entrance ramp from 11th Street to eastbound I-70 closed until summer 2012.
• I-70, St. Louis City, exit ramp from westbound to Madison closed until February 22.
• Grand Blvd, St. Louis City, closed from I-64 to Chouteau by St. Louis City until mid 2012.
