Take the Family to an Easter Egg Hunt, Musical Story Time at the Library and More

Here are five things you can do in or near University City.

Have a suggestion or tip? Simply add them to the comment box below. There are plenty of fun things for families to do in or near University City this weekend. Here's a look at five of them.

When/Where: Saturday, 10:00am-12:00pm. Logan College of Chiropractic campus, 1851 Schoettler Rd, Chesterfield. Why Go: Kids can take part in an egg hunt and see the Easter Bunny arrive by helicopter. There will be lots of activities for children of all ages including balloon artists and a petting zoo. Pricing: The high anticipated "Hare in the Air" Egg Hunt is absolutely free and open to the public. Website: http://www.logan.edu.

When/Where: Saturday 2:00pm-4:00pm. , 8125 Groby Rd. Why Go: This basketball tournament is a fundraiser hosted University City Youth Society. Pricing: Admission: $4 at the door,  $5 per team to play, and $6 late registration. Snacks and refreshments will be available.

MUSICAL SATURDAY: BERLIOZ THE BEAR

When/Where: Saturday 10:30am, . Why Go: Hear the story of "Berlioz the Bear," with a musical accomplishment. Try out a real musical instrument and receive a free book. Pricing: Free. All ages welcome.

LAST WEEKEND TO CATCH THE MOBOT'S ANNUAL ORCHID SHOW:

When/Where: Friday, Saturday, Sunday; 9am-5pm daily. Missouri Botanical Garden, 4344 Shaw Blvd., Street. Why Go: It's the last weekend to catch the Garden's  annual orchid show, which features 800 blooming orchids in lush, tropical display infused with an eclectic mix of Maya-themed accents. Pricing: Garden admission plus $5. It's free for Garden members. 

When/Where: Daily at  from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Why Go: If you have a child interested in this program, you’ll want to get signed up ASAP. The University City School Board is accepting applications for the Elementary (Kg-6th grade) Summer Learning Academy, and applications are available at any UC school. Deadline is May 1st.
