CHUCK BERRY

The installation of the Chuck Berry statue in the Loop put the national spotlight on University City. Residents of Long Beach, California, read all about the statue.

Closer to home, KSDK spoke with Harry Weber, the sculptor of the Berry statue and Blueberry Hill owner Joe Edwards, who helped spearhead the project. 

Despite being in his mid 80s, Berry appears to have no plans to slow down. He's slated to perform in Easton, Pennsylvania in November, according to lehighvalleylive.com.

Charlie Brennan of KMOX is looking for artists who want to offer their congrats to Berry on his statue. He plans to play the audio clips on the radio.

NEW RESTAURANT

A new sushi restaurant will be going into the Loop, reports the Riverfront Times. The restaurant is looking to hire servers. Here's the ad on Craigslist.

PRATZEL'S

Pratzel's Bakery formerly of Creve Coeur and U City before that, will get a new lease on life next month when it opens a bakery in Olivette. The bakery has been renamed Pratzel's Eastgate Bakery in memory of its previous location on Eastgate Avenue in U City, according to the St. Louis Post Dispatch.selling to wholesale customers and filling special orders for retail customers, reports the Post. To order, call the bakery at 314-692-8100. 

OLD PHOTOS

The St. Louis Beacon interviewed a couple who recently acquired photos of the St. Louis area dating from the 1900s. One photo offers a rare view of Forest Park at the earliest point of being cleared for the upcoming World's Fair. In the background is the headquarters of the Fair, Brookings Hall at Washington University.
