It's Friday, and you've got no idea what you'll do for the weekend. University City Patch is coming to the rescue. Check our picks for the activities to hit and places to explore.

When/Where: Friday April 22, 7:00pm-9:00pm, , 7401 Balson Ave. Why Go: The Stage Play RISEN is presenting a pre-screening/FUNDRAISER for 4 students that were selected as Young Ambassadors for Nonviolence to travel to South Africa to study “The struggle from Apartheid to Democracy” and the role nonviolence played. RISEN showcases the great transformation and journey of African-Americans in America. Pricing: Tickets are $10.00

When/Where: Saturday, April 23, 9 am - 2 pm, various locations throughout University City. Why Go:  Proceeds will help send 4 University City High School students to South Africa to further their training in peace training and non-violent resolution. Pricing: $10.00 per car.

7 – 11 Store at 8159 Olive Blvd at 82nd  Street



When/Where: Friday, April 22 (5pm-8pm) and Saturday, April 23 (12pm-3pm) at the COCA, 525 Trinity Ave. Why Go: Children and teens ages 12-18 are invited to audition for the COCA Summer Musical Little Shop of Horrors. Students should prepare 32 bars of a song and provide sheet music and a headshot/photo. Pricing: It's free to audition, but if cast, students pay a participation fee of $275 (financial aid available to qualified candidates) and rehearse 3:30-9:00pm from June 20 to July 24. 

VINCENTENNIAL: THE LEGACY OF VINCENT PRICE

When/Where: Friday, April 22 and Saturday April 23, at 3648 Washington Blvd. (The Sheldon Art Galleries). Why Go: This year marks the 100th anniversary of Vincent Price's birth on May 27, 1911 in St. Louis. The exhibit provides a glimpse into his life through a vast collection of memorabilia, heirlooms and images. Pricing: Free.

When/Where: Saturday April 23 at Mad Art Gallery located at 2727 S 12 St. Why Go:  is hosting its major fund-raising event, a trivia night. Doors open at 6:00p. Trivia begins promptly at 7pm. Free parking. There will be free beer wine and soda. Teams are encouraged to bring their own food. Pricing: Tickets are $20 per person or $200 for a table of 10.
