OPENING RECEPTION  OF ‘ALPHABET ART’ AT COCA

Friday June 10, 6:00pm at the Center for Creative Arts (COCA), 524 Trinity Ave. An opening reception and “Alphabet Art” auction of work by 26 artists that celebrates the parent-child connection. Exhibit runs through August 13 in the Millstone Gallery at COCA. Wine and  juice boxes will be served.

JUNGLE BOOGIE AT THE ST. LOUIS ZOO

Friday June 10 from 5pm-8pm at the St. Louis Zoo. The band Ticket to the Beatles will perform as part of the zoo’s Friday night concert series. The concerts are held at the Schnucks Family Plaza near the sea lion basin in the center of the zoo. Admission is free.

13TH ANNUAL SUSAN G. KOMEN ST. LOUIS RACE FOR THE CURE

Saturday June 11 at North 7th Street and Olive Blvd. In downtown St. Louis. Registration opens at 6:30am. Of the net proceeds raised locally from the Komen St. Louis Race for the Cure, a minimum of 25% goes to national breast cancer research and up to 75% stays in St. Louis.

ST. LOUIS SCIENCE CENTER DEBUTS NEW EXHIBIT

Friday June 10 at 9:30am at the St. Louis Science Center, 5050 Oakland Ave.  Making its St. Louis debut, Gunther von Hagens’ BODY WORLDS and The Brain unravels the mystery of the mind and the secret world of the brain. Visitors will view more than 200 authentic human specimens. Purchase tickets at the Science Center box office by calling 314-289-4424, or through Ticketmaster.

SAINT. LOUIS ART MUSEUM KICKS OFF CONSERVATION EXHIBIT

Sunday June 12 from 10am-5pm at the St. Louis Art Museum. Conservators start their restoration of a 348 foot painting that dates from 1850. Visitors to the museum will be able to watch the group restore the painting in the Main Exhibition Galleries. Admission is free.
