From the Editor: Patch Launches Local Voices to Feature More News and Views From the Community

The University City Patch Will Showcase Local Bloggers and Provide a Feed of Headlines About Our Community from Independent News Sources.

It's not you. University City Patch looks pretty different this morning. That's because starting today, U City Patch has added a Local Voices section to its homepage.

What's new

  • Blogs: Local people (that's you) are invited to post blogs using the University City Patch as their platform. If you're interested in blogging on Patch contact me at myra.lopez@patch.com. In addition, we'll feature other local bloggers in the local Voices feed.
  • News: We want to be your one-stop destination for news about University City. That means finding headlines from other news sources and featuring them in the Local Voices section as well. It will also mean we write articles that "round up" issues, events and happenings from in town and nearby.

You've probably already noticed that Patch is ever-evolving. In April we made a few functional enhancements, including moving the Events module front and center. We also now feature four news items in the top right section of our homepage. Our Opinion Columns are no longer featured on the homepage, but you can still find them under the News tab.

  • My commitment to bring you news that is free of opinions, and with no agenda.

As your editor, I will continue to cover community news, write articles and columns, and feature photos and video. You will still see me, Myra Lopez, all around town and at any meeting I can get to.
