Five Things to do in University City Labor Day Weekend

It's Thursday, and you've got no idea what you'll do for the weekend. University City Patch is coming to the rescue. Check our picks for the activities to hit and places to explore.

POOL TIME IS GOING, GOING, GONE
This is the last weekend to splash around in the  before it closes for the season on Monday, September 5. Pool hours are noon to 8pm. Swim Pass Required.

BOOGIE AT THE ZOO
Friday night's show is the last performance for this season's Jungle Boogie concert series at the St. Louis Zoo. The Ralph Butler Band will perform from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Concerts are held at the Schnuck Family Plaza near the sea lion basin in the center of the zoo. Admission is free.

SHOW YOUR U CITY PRIDE
Varsity Girls Softball vs. Bayless Sr. High School. Friday, September 2. The Lady Lions take on the Bayless Lady Bronchos. Game time is 4:15 pm at Bayless Senior High School.
Varsity Boy's Football vs. Webster Groves High School. Friday, September 2. The Lions take on the Statemen of  Webster Groves. Game time is 7:00 p.m. at Webster Groves High School.

GET YOUR CHALK ON
The Loop’s first chalk festival will be held on Saturday, September 3rd (Rain Date: Sept. 4th). For a small fee, artists and wanna-be artists will be given a sidewalk location to draw their sidewalk chalk art. The event runs from 9am to 6pm. $10 for adults; $8 for students ( ages 13-18); $2 for children under 12. 

FITNESS AND FUN BUFFET
If you've been mulling a gym membership Centennial Commons is the place to be this week. Starting on Monday, September 5, Centennial Commons will be offering their most popular classes (Total Body Conditioning, ZUMBA, Yoga, Senior Stretchercise and more) FREE of charge, for one week only.
