Ten Halloween Activities to do in St. Louis

Here are some suggestions of things to do in or near University City this weekend.


The Melting Pot in University City is hosting a Halloween Party on Friday. Be sure to dress up for this scary night. The Melting Pot is offering a four-course dinner and complimentary cocktail for $36 per person. The staff is going to be in their craziest attire too. Prizes will be given out for interesting costumes. Call 314-725-4141 to make reservations.

The First Congregational Church in Clayton invites everyone is invited to wear a Halloween Costume and plenty of "tricks" and treats" will be shared by all.

NOT-SO-HAUNTED HOUSE
Looking for some family-friendly Halloween fun? Check out The Magic House for the annual Not-So-Haunted House! Dress in your Halloween best and trick-or-treat throughout The Magic House! For the older ghouls (5-14 years) there’s the Haunted Trail. Kids walk through the twisting mazes in the pitch black, armed only with a flashlight. Regular Admission $8.75 (ages 1 and above)

BOO AT THE ZOO SPOOKY SATURDAY
Trick-or-treat along the Pumpkin Trail and show off your costume in the costume parade. FREE. No reservations needed.

CENTRAL WEST END HALLOWEEN
Halloween in the Central West End includes activities during the day for children and in the evening for adults. The daytime activities include an amazing children’s parade at 11 a.m. and then a pet parade at 1 p.m. In the evening the adults compete for best costume, which includes cash prizes, along with the costume party, which is expected to attract more than 25,000 people.

Celebrate Halloween in The Loop with the 3rd Annual Great Pumpkin Carve & Glow at the Moonrise Hotel. Guests of all ages are invited to join the pumpkin carving festivities. Pumpkins and basic carving and decorating materials will be provided. Prizes will be awarded in multiple categories. Complimentary hot cider will be served, and other fall food and beverages will be available for purchase. FREE (first come first serve).

SWEET-TOOTH MECCA - THE LOOP CANDY STORE
There's no better time to get acquainted with Miss M's Candy Boutique in the Loop than Halloween weekend. The store features over 250 kinds of candy. FREE to look.

HALLOWEEN STORY NIGHT AT SUBTERRANEAN BOOKS
Subterranean Books is putting on a Halloween storytime for the preschool set on Monday night. Kids should dress up in costumes. There wil be decorations, party favors and Halloween Stories courtesy of storyteller Georgy Rock, who is leaving her storytime gig at Subterranean Books to be a full-time minister. Monday night will be Rock's last story time at Subterranen Books.
