A Farewell from Myra Lopez

U City Patch editor Myra Lopez will leave Patch next Thursday to take a new job.

Dear University City Patch readers.

It turns out a New Year means a new job for me.
My last day as editor of University City Patch will be Thursday, January 12, 2012. I've accepted a position working at a St. Louis area university.

I want to express my tremendous thanks and gratitude to the University City community for welcoming Patch. I also want to thank the mayor, city council members and city staff for their welcoming nature. And, it's been my pleasure to engage with the superintendent of schools, school board members and school officials. They are tasked with doing a tremendous job and I was able to see first hand how hard they work to secure a bright future for U City students. I'll also miss interacting with the ladies from U City in Bloom. However, they can count on seeing my face at the annual plant sale.

I moved to St. Louis in October 2010 not knowing many people and through Patch I have truly met some phenomenal people that I'm glad to call friends.

A new editor will fill my spot. I will work closely with that individual to make for a smooth transition. When the new editor is officially named I'll let you know.

Thank you very much,
Myra Lopez
