University City Resident Receives Jewish Federation of St. Louis Award

RubinBrown partner Jeffrey Sparks, CPA, recently was acknowledged by the Jewish Federation of St. Louis with its David N. and Roselin Grosberg Young Leadership Award, which recognizes volunteer leaders in the Jewish community who are 40 years and younger.

Earlier this summer, Sparks was named a partner in RubinBrown’s Assurance Services Group and works with public and privately held organizations specializing in the manufacturing and distribution industries. Before joining RubinBrown in 2004, he served as an intern at RubinBrown as well as PricewaterhouseCoopers.  He participated in the Baker Tilly International Exchange Program in 2006 and 2010, working for Staples Roadway in Auckland, New Zealand and Collins Barrow in Toronto, Canada.

Sparks holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from Miami University-Oxford, OH. Previously, he was recognized by the St. Louis Business Journal as part of its 2010 30 Under 30 Class and, in 2008, received RubinBrown’s Community Service Award as an emerging leader.  He is a member of the board of trustees for the Jewish Federation of St. Louis, is president of its Young Professional Division, and a member of its Montefiore Society and Ben-Gurion Society.  He also serves on the board of the Jewish Community Relations Council.

Sparks will be recognized for the award during the Jewish Federation’s Annual Meeting on September 17. Individuals are honored who demonstrate active Jewish Federation leadership and commitment to its Annual Community Campaign, as well as dedicate time and skills to other Jewish organizations and the St. Louis community at large. Finalists were selected by a diverse committee of community and professional leadership.
