New Asian Restaurant Opens on Olive
Tokyo Seafood Buffet in University City features "conveyor belt sushi," a first for the St. Louis area, according to its owners.
Along with the usual assortment of Chinese, Japanese and American buffet favorites, Tokyo Seafood Buffet, which opened May 20, also features sushi plates that can be snagged from a rotating conveyor belt system.
The idea may be new for the St. Louis area, but the Riverfront Times reports that the invention dates back to 1958 when it was created by a Japanese restauranteur.
Tokyo Seafood Buffet is located at 8008 Olive Blvd. and is open Monday-Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
