Subterranean Books On Brink of Closing

University City business Subterranean Books may have to close down if business doesn't pick up.

in the Loop is on the brink of going out of business.

In a posting on the bookstore's Facebook page, owner Kelly von Plonski wrote "We have 5 months to turn our sales around or else we're out of business Sept 1."

Von Plonksi said the store asked for a rent reduction and got turned down.  She said she's looking into throwing a fund-raiser "to get us out of our imminent bind." But she added, "we still need long-term solutions. We can't handle the slide we've recently seen."
