Saturday Is Derby Day at the Moonrise Hotel
Celebrate the running of the Kentucky Derby this weekend.
There's no need to head for Churchill Downs this weekend when you can watch the Kentucky Derby at the Moonrise Hotel in the Loop.
The free event begins at 3 p.m. and continues until 7 p.m., will take place in the New Moon Room special event space and on the outdoor Rooftop Terrace Bar at the Moonrise Hotel.
Servers will wear racing silks.

A variety of contests will be held during the party. Prizes will be awarded for the best hat, most creative hat and best-dressed couple. Winners will receive prizes including free stays at the Moonrise Hotel.
Party-goers also will be able to vote for the horse they think will win the Derby. The winner will have their party tab paid.

Derby-themed food and drinks—including Mint Juleps in commemorative glasses—will be available for purchase at the event and complimentary appetizers will be served, according to a press release.
