DISCOVERING OPTIONS “IRON KIDS” ANNUAL FUNDRAISER

On October 3, 2012 Discovering Options will host its annual fundraiser “IRON KIDS” at The Thaxton Building, 1009 Olive Street, St. Louis, MO 63101. This event follows the five cooking clinics led by children from the afterschool program at the Brentwood .

Children from the afterschool program will present the tasty creations which were developed with the guidance of a chef from each of the participating restaurants:

  • Big Sky,
  • Bistro 1130,
  • Farmhaus,
  • L’Ecole Culinaire and

The afterschool program includes a weekly cooking lesson, so IRON KIDS gives the children a showcase. IRON KIDS guests will be able to vote for their favorite recipe and support Discovering Option’s programs for at-risk children!

Catherine Neville, Publisher and Editor of Feast Magazine, will emcee the event. Guests will also be able to enjoy a Kakao Chocolate creation, appetizers and desserts from Whole Foods Market, sample what’s new at Vom Fass USA as well as The Thaxton Speakeasy’s bathtub gin and moonshine.

Fish Eye Fun photo booth and Way Cool Balloons will provide the entertainment.

Discovering Options helps at-risk children avoid drug use and other self-destructive behaviors through mentoring and comprehensive after school programming that encourages family involvement. Elementary PREP is a targeted prevention and mentoring program serving at-risk 4thand 5th grade students living in St. Louis.

Ticket Price: $100/per person. VIP Ticket $150/per person

Congratulations for the GRG, including all hardworking employees, Board members-volunteers and theRead More taxpayers who had the foresight to create such a worthwhile taxing district. This group, with extensive collaboration between governmental agencies, private landowners and citizens, creates interconntected trails throughout our region!
