Esquire Tests the Grilled Cheese at WInslow's Home

Evan S. Benn checks out what St. Louis has to offer for Grilled Cheese Month.

Esquire Magazine is taste-testing grilled cheese sandwiches from around the nation in honor of Grilled Cheese Month, and Evan S. Benn chose Winslow's Home, 7213 Delmar, to represent St. Louis.

Benn reflects on what makes the sandwich unique to the garden variety, American cheese sandwich you may make at home.

"A slathering of thyme butter under the bread gives the sandwich a fresh, earthy note. A last-minute sprinkling of flaked sea salt and chopped thyme makes everything pop," he writes.
