Commerce Magazine Ceases Publication After 94 Years

It was the official publication of the Regional Commerce and Growth Association.

St. Louis Commerce Magazine, which has been a mainstay in the executive board room of St. Louis’ Fortune 500 companies will cease publication after its July-August issue. This publication has been serving the St. Louis community since 1918.

Commerce is the the official publication of the St. Louis Commerce and Growth Association.

Commerce was once published 12 times a year, including an annual roster. It cut back to six issues a year several years ago.

Gary Broome, vice president of communications with the St. Louis Regional and Commerce Growth Association said the shut down was due to “economic reasons,” adding “that production just was too costly.” This information was provided by the St. Louis Business Journal.

Shera Dalin, a University City resident, was Commerce's managing editor, taking over a year ago from veteran journalist Meg Zelenovich.

Joe Reagan, who took office as president and CEO of the RCGA in February is listed as the magazine’s publisher. 

Subscriptions for companies in the RCGA ran from $550 to $2,150 annually, based on the number of company employees. Private subscriptions were $30.
