Cold Stone Creamery Closing Sunday, Prepares for Move

Get your ice cream fix now, Cold Stone Creamery will close at the end of this week.

If you have an urge for an Apple Pie a la Cold Stone or an ice cream cupcake while on the Loop, you better get over to Cold Stone Creamery this weekend. The store at 6662 Delmar Ave. will serve it's last waffle cone on Sunday before getting ready for a big move down the street.

The store's lease is up at the end of the week, according to a Cold Stone Creamery employee. The store is moving three blocks east, to 6314 Delmar Ave. to a smaller shop with less expensive rent. The store will remain on the same side of Delmar.

The new location will open some time in the middle of March. Ice cream fans are asked to keep an eye on their website for the exact opening date.

Management at the ice cream shop said they will hold the jobs open for their current employees and plan to have everyone come back in March. The workers at the Loop location are free to interview with other Cold Stone Creamery locations if they don't want to wait.
