Blast Off at the Moonrise Hotel's New Moon Room

There's a new place to party in the Delmar Loop. The Moon Room on the roof of the Moonrise Hotel will be open this weekend for the hotel's Kentucky Derby party. 

The Moonrise will hold an official public grand opening from 5 p.m. until close on Wednesday, May 8. The event is open to all and will includes drink specials and 25 percent off all food.

The room features 107 glass solar panels that also act as a 2,100-square-foot ceiling for the New Moon Room. The frameless modules allow sunlight to filter through to guests in the special event space while providing enough energy – 33,000 kWh – to power all the needs of the new facility.  

The glass-walled room is designed to host up to 200 people for a reception or 150 for a seated meal. 

Guests will have a view of the Gateway Arch to the east, Forest Park to the south and the streets of the Loop neighborhood below. 

Sunday brunch will be served in the venue from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. beginning on Mother's Day.
