Trumpeter and vocalist Jeremy Davenport has been a part of the New Orleans music scene for over a decade. A University City native, Davenport has performed with jazz greats such as Wynton and Ellis Marsalis, and toured with Harry Connick, Jr. His combination of talent and charm has made him one of today's most popular live performers.

Davenport will play The Sheldon Concert Hall Feb. 2 and the venue is offering a buy one, get one freediscount to U City residents.

Acccording to a press release, Davenport is not only known as a spectacular vocalist and trumpet player, but as a natural entertainer. He combines original lyrics and music with his unique style of storytelling, putting a modern twist on music from the Golden Age of jazz.

Davenport released his first album in 1996, the self-titled Jeremy Davenport, followed by Maybe in a Dream in 1998 and Live at the Bistro in 2005. He was also featured on the soundtrack to the Luke Perry film Life Breath, and in 2009 he released his critically acclaimed solo album We’ll Dance ‘Til Dawn.
