Viewfinder: Drum Circle In the Loop Attracts Diverse Crowd
People of all ages and nationalities gather together next to Market Pub House to enjoy a drum circle, hoola hooping and copeira.
The sunny weather Sunday attracted an array of ecclectic people to the Delmar Loop; musicians and dancers of various genres brought out everything from instruments to hoola hoops as they engaged one another with drum playing and fancy dance moves.
A Nigerian woman boasted about how much the experience reminded her of her native home where the women would sing and dance as the men played drums until nightfall.
A young man named Usamah exclaimed, "I have been playing in this drum circle for the past five years. I wouldn't consider myself to be the best drummer, but it feels good relieving my stress through drumming."

Usamah also explained how the drum circle has been going on for over twenty years and all of the drummers have each other's contact information so that when the weather starts to get nice they reach out to one another to meet in the Loop.
